iNELS deals with smart home solutions for end customers, entire cities, hotels or office buildings.
The problem for smart home companies is that appliances and all technology will become less smart when connected to the system (cloud) than they were before. The system is often unintuitive and has errors. Setting up and managing a large number of devices thus becomes a nightmare.

One of the big challenges for us was setting up the so-called rule engine. That is, adjusting the interaction of the device based on some value - e.g. outdoor temperature.

What We Struggled With
Old unfashionable environment
The operation of the smart network of the device must be clear and intuitive. Therefore, the main goal was to transform an old, non-functional platform into a modern application that will allow easy management of hundreds of devices and thus be an extension to the existing mobile application.
Improved control of the entire system
In the new application, we have taken care of good controllability, both for individual devices and for setting up the system as a whole. We also put emphasis on better UX and throughput of the entire application. Interactive dashboards have also been added to the application, which can intuitively control all types of devices.
Rule engine for conditioning
In the new application, we have also developed a completely new conditioning function that can link the states and actions of individual devices across the entire application. This functionality was not in the original application at all, so it was necessary to design it completely from scratch. The entire application is based on the setting of conditions. Individual devices interact with each other and perform actions based on different states.

We have always wanted to try the combination of hardware and software, and we are glad that we were able to work on this connection with ElKoep, who have many years of experience in hardware development.
