Referee Recorder
One-click recording of events from the match.

01
INTRODUCTION
Saves referees' times
The referees normally cut out the determining moments from the match record manually. Now, during the match, the referee marks the defining moments on the clicker, and the clips are created automatically.
The clicker (sensing device) is carried by the referee during the match. It then transfers the data from it to the web application. Clicker times are synchronized with the match record and trimmed clips are automatically generated. Each shot is still editable. The user can change the length, add tags and / or comments and also share them with other referees.

OBSTACLES
What we've struggled with
01
Adapting the application to all sports.
Although Refrec is primarily aimed at basketball referees, it does not end with them. It supports football, hockey and other sports.
02
We're moving in unexplored waters.
Up until now, referees had their handwritten notes in hand after the match, and hours of video editing awaited them. We are developing something new that has never been seen before. Exciting and dangerous at the same time.
03
Hardware connection.
A "clicker" is supplied with the refrec web app by which the referee indicates the time periods of the event in the match. For the best possible user experience, both parts of the platform must communicate seamlessly.
04
SOLUTION
How we solved the situation
01
Comprehensive system for most sports.
We have created a comprehensive system that will successfully serve all the sports you can think of. It allows you to work with different match lengths, various types of fouls and adapts to all aspects.
02
We asked where it went...
...to find out what is really important. With freshly gained knowledge of post-match procedures, we tried to put together the best of what we heard so that the referees would have the easiest possible transition to the digital version of their tables.
03
Automatic data transfer immediately after connection.
It didn't take long and we convinced both platforms to communicate with each other without difficulty. After connecting the clicker to RefRec, all captured time will be automatically transferred to the match. And the user can continue to work with them.
05
WHAT THE APP IS BASED ON
Tech background.
01
ReactJS
For the effective creation of a mobile application, it was necessary to choose a platform that will allow us to develop in parallel for both the most popular operating systems Android and iOS. In the end, the choice fell on the proven ReactJS framework.
02
Bridging of the web app.
We combined ReactJS with a unique solution for reusing a web application with a bridge to handle native functionality such as NFC, which helped to achieve massive cost savings.
03
Near Field Communication.
Pro co nejpohodlnější přenos časových značek z clickeru jsme použili technologii NFC.
